GAIN TRAFFIC TO YOUR WEBSITE – PART 3
By Sam Barns
Gaining traffic help you to quickly advance into multiple new target markets cheaply using simple honest techniques and also enhances the effectiveness of nearly any profit making strategy.
A fact is that people will NOT come to your web site no matter HOW great it is unless you promote your site! There are two ways to promote your site. One…Spend a few thousand dollars to have a professional web site promotion company to promote it or Two…Learn what those Professional web site promotion companies do to earn their money and then DO IT YOURSELF!
Of course the best choice is to learn how, and then do it yourself!!
The ways to generate immediate traffic to your web site are:
1. Start a PPC (pay per click) campaign you can begin a Google Ad words campaign and start generating visitors the same day you set it up. Of course it is going to cost you some money but you can set a limit for how much you wish to spend. You will soon get a good idea what keywords produce the most clicks for your ads. You can incorporate these keywords in your site when you optimize it for the search engines.
While you run your PPC campaign get busy with preparing your site for the main search engines. Once you have been indexed by the main ones such as Google, Yahoo and MSN and start moving up in rankings, you can scale back the amount you spend on Google Ad words. Your goal is to eventually rank high enough that you wont have to use PPC anymore because you are getting enough visitors.
2. Increase link popularity this refers to how many external and internal links are pointing or linking to any particular page. External links include those that come from web sites other than your own whereas internal links are those that come from within the same domain name. Link popularity is not based on the “quantity” of links but the “quality” of those links as well. Therefore increasing link popularity does not necessarily require having a large number of links pointing to your site but rather a good number of quality links.
3. Search Engine and Directory Submissions. If you need a lot of hits, then submitting to search engines and web directories will do the trick.
4. Submit your site to larger sites. This is the second best way of doing things. For one a lot of people look at the links section, and if your link is there, there is a good chance of that person going to it. I would submit your link to any site you feel that would give you good hits.
5. Submit your site in chat rooms. This is a guaranteed hit. Youre guaranteed to at least get 50% of the people in the chat to visit your site. Imagine you submitting to over eighty people, and they all visit. That is a lot of hits!
6. Submit to Top Site Lists. This isn’t the best way of doing things, but it helps somewhat. Most people won’t visit your site if it is a low rank, which isn’t that good. So try to take a top site list that lets the people vote. This way, even if your hits aren’t that good, you can possibly achieve a high rank. Even if your site is a low rank, at least it is there.
Search engine optimization is not an end all and be all for everyone when it comes to generating more web site traffic. Many different and varied online marketing practices should be employed. When employing these other practices, though, don’t neglect SEO because you can be sure your competition isn’t neglecting it.
