Running a business means you have to be in control at all times. You’re the boss and you’re the one that runs everything. You have the say in everything that’s done and how it’s done.
When things go haywire control is all but tossed out the window. Depending on the situation you may have to put everything with your business aside so you can deal with it. Other situations may prove less hectic and you’ll still have control but your schedule may change.
When you have children things can change in a second. You may wake up in the morning thinking everything is going to be perfect only to find out one of them is sick or they let you know five minutes before you leave that they need a notebook for school.
Since these types of things can happen with a drop of a hat, you need to be prepared. Of course, you can’t plan for every scenario, so the best thing to do is plan for those you can and hope that if something else comes up you’ll be ok with the plans you’ve made.
The important thing to do is let everyone that’s effected, what’s going on so they know and can plan accordingly. This will prevent people from being upset with you and they’ll also understand if you need to extend deadlines.
So the next time something goes haywire, remember everything will work out and you’ll be ok. Whatever you do don’t stress!
