If you
use Twitter then you know how important your posts are. Retweets are good for business for many reasons. One of the best reasons is because your information will be visible my people that you’re not following. You’ll gain new followers and possible new customers.
There are a few things you need to do with your posts that will help others when they want to retweet it. The first thing you need to think about is the number of characters in your post.
Twitter only allows 140 characters so you want to make sure your post is short, sweet, and to the point. When someone retweets your post your screen name is included in the post, so you want to give enough room for this so nothing is cut off.
It’s also a good idea to shorten your link so it doesn’t take as many characters. This will give you more room to explain what the link is all about. You need to make sure you give enough information for them to want to see what your information is about.
I have had a lot of posts retweeted and I have found it’s wonderful. I want others to benefit from Twitter so I retweet other people’s posts too. If you read a post that makes you feel good and you think it should be shared with others, make sure you retweet it. If you want others to retweet your posts, make sure you help your followers out by saving a little bit of room.

I find the biggest problem is that folks don’t leave enough room for you to add your retweet. My understanding is that you must leave at least 20 characters open to allow for your retweet information to show up without problems.
Kathy, that is a big problem that a lot of people run into. I have stopped myself from RT’ing a message because of the length. If I can’t change a couple of things and make it work, I’m done. If people would remember the character rule it would help.
Good tips, Corrie. And I love that little birdie!
