I learned a valuable business lesson in church today. Who would have thought this would ever happen? I know I certainly never thought it would be possible.
Here is the lesson.
As a business owner, I don’t share my success very often. I don’t know why I don’t do this, but it’s something I rarely do. I’ve been trying to think about this and why I don’t. I think the main reason might be that I’m afraid. But what am I afraid of? I don’t know, I haven’t figured it out yet.
After thinking about this question for a while, I have come up with one conclusion. I’m afraid to share my success because of what may come of it. I may see an increase in my business and maybe that scares me. It could also be due to the fear of what others think. What I’m happy about and see as success may not be the same for others.
I need to stop thinking that’s such horrible things and just let God take over. He’ll help me do anything. Philippians 4:13 says “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
Being scared to grow my business or being scared of what others think is not the way to live my life. How many of you were or are afraid to grow your business or maybe something else in your life? Don’t be afraid to celebrate your success. You’ll be glad you did!

I do the same thing and I believe both fear of growth and fear of what others consider “success” are excuses I use. It’s time to leave the excuses behind. We may just surprise ourselves!
Great lesson!
I find it hard to share my success too. I find it easier to share with people I really love and trust.
Hmmmm, maybe a shift in perspective? Consider that you’re not sharing “your success”. You’re sharing “God’s provision.” So cool! Sharing, as/when God leads you, from a place of humility and a with desire to encourage others shows them what the Lord has done for you. Or… the rocks will cry out…
Luke 19:40 Perhaps your lesson is that God is preparing you for a time of sharing that he already has all picked out for you. Praying with you. Tina
