Continuing our discussion on outsourcing, today we will talk about blog posts. Almost every person and every business has at least one blog. From a business aspect, we know it’s important to blog because it’s a great way to keep your business in front of people. You can set up RSS Feeds on your blog and people can subscribe to them via email or through their readers.

We know it’s very important to have fresh content on a regular basis. With all the different aspects of owning a business, writing content for your blog may be difficult to do. Finding time to write could be a challenge or maybe evening writing in general, so when this happens you may need some help.

One way to do this is to use articles from article directories as content. You will want to use articles that are what your target market is looking for or enjoys reading. When you use this type of content, make sure you include the author bio and make sure the link is clickable.

Another option is to hire a Virtual Assistant or Ghostwriter to write for you. You can give them topics to write about and let them run with it or you can give them specific ideas you have. Another option is for you to write the posts and have your Virtual Assistant schedule them on your blog. Either way, you will save time in the long run.

Using these ideas to keep the content on your blog fresh will help you keep your business in front of your readers on a regular basis. When you do this, you will increase traffic to your blog and your website. So remember these tips when you are looking for ways to increase the time you have to spend with your family this summer.

We moved in to our house almost 6 years ago. Josh is our youngest and he got the smallest bedroom. It was painted a blue and white when we moved in. About two years ago, we took the two bedrooms downstairs and turned it into one big bedroom. We decided to give our oldest our old bedroom after a serious discussion. Josh was moved to Chris’ old room and he got a makeover. His new room was painted a bright white and one of his walls has black and red paint splattered on it. You can sort of see it in the picture below with his new Spiderman poster.

He also received a new bunk bed with a desk underneath it. He is very excited about it and as you can tell by the look on his face in the picture below, he was beaming from ear to ear.

One last picture of his new curtain/blanket. It’s a spiderman blanket that we are going to use as a curtain. It didn’t fit on the bed right, so we decided to hang it on the wall to cover up the window. He liked it so much that we are going to put a loop in it and hang it up with a curtain rod.

How are you preparing your business for the holiday season? Do you offer specials for each holiday or do you only do this for certain holiday’s?

I’m sure part of this has to do with what you offer and what your beliefs are, but have you ever considered doing this to increase your profits? It’s a great way to do it.

You can offer a discount for your products or services, you can offer a free product when someone purchases a product or services from you, or you can run a contest and give a way a product to the winner. When you do this, people will jump at the opportunity to purchase from you because it’s a discounted rate or you are giving something away.

When you create a promotion around a holiday, you can make it fun and people will join you for sure. Not only will it be fun and easy for you to promote, but people will also enjoy it and will be more likely to purchase from you.

You can do this for each holiday or you can offer a special each month and not go around the holiday that is during each month. Whatever you do, advertise and promote it in every way possible and you are sure to increase your profits.

I made a wonderful dinner tonight. I made a post on Twitter and have been asked for the recipe. So I thought I would post it here for others to see. Hope you enjoy!

Dorito Casserole

1 bag of Dorito’s
1 pound of hamburger or chicken
2 cans of cream of chicken soup
1 can of water
1 small can of chilies
1 8 oz bag of shredded cheese

Brown the hamburger and drain or cook the chicken.
Cover the bottom of a 9 x 12 in pan with Dorito’s.
Pour the hamburger or chicken over the Dorito’s.
Combine the soup, water, and chilies in a bowl. Mix well.
Pour over the hamburger or chicken and make sure all the Dorito’s are covered.
Cover the top with cheese.

Cook at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

I listened to a call tonight that talked about blogging. How to do it, what to do, and what not to do. Carrie Lauth did an awesome job teaching us all the details about how to blog.

I learned that hosting your blog on your site is so much better than not hosting your blog. You build more traffic when it’s hosted.

I also learned that it’s your blog and you can post what you want. Nothing is set in stone as to what to post and how often to post. That was huge for me. I was always worried that I wasn’t posting the right things and I was also worried I wasn’t doing it enough or not enough.

One other thing I learned is you need to be more in tune with your readers. You need post comments to those that post comments to your posts. Not only is that a great way to get more people to comment, but it’s also a great way to let your readers know that you care about them and you appreciate them reading it.

I really enjoyed the class. I will be reviewing my notes and looking through the items that Carrie gave away. Looking forward to what I come up with.

School in our city starts tomorrow (8/18). I’m a little sad, but mostly excited about it.

My oldest is 12 and in 7th grade. He is in his second year of middle school and doing very well. He is going to play football for the school this year and his practices start tomorrow. He is very excited and can’t wait. I’m excited to watch him play but will miss the practices. He did two years of midget football and I watch all but one practice during those two years. At the middle school level they ask that the parents not come to practices because they feel the students do better when they are not being watched. I can understand, but it’s still hard. O’well!

My youngest is almost 10 and in the 4th grade. This is is second to the last year for elementary school and his second year without his brother at the same school. He was not happy with the fact that he won’t be in the same school as his brother until his first year of high school and then it will only be for one year. I guess that’s what happens when they are 3 grades apart. O’well, I know he will do just fine. This is his first year having a male teacher, so that will be an interesting thing as well. He is very excited about having this man as his teacher. My oldest had him as a reading teacher and did very well. But, my boy’s have different ways of learning and I’m praying that won’t cause a problem.

So, tomorrow we will be getting up at 6:30 am so we can have breakfast and get ready for school. My oldest has to be to school by 7:45 and my youngest has to be to school by 8:40. Thank goodness we don’t live to far from the schools.
