Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving

Posted by admin  Published in Other

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year. It’s the time of year when we all give thanks for everything we’re grateful for and the things we have in our lives. We have so many things that wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for our family and friends.

I’m thankful to have God in my life, my wonderful husband, my awesome boys, my parents, my sister, my in-laws, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and my clients. I feel blessed to have all of you in my life.

I want to thank everyone I have in my life. I’m thankful for all of my friends I have met online since I started in 2004 and I want to thank my family for being with me on this journey. I’m looking forward to next year to see what it brings and what God has in store for me. So for now, I want to thank everyone for being a part of my life. You are appreciated!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Some Things are Hard to do, but Must be Done

Posted by admin  Published in Motivation, Other

There are certain things in our lives that we must do in order to keep going. It doesn’t matter if it’s for personal or business reasons, they must be done. While they may be difficult to do, you need to do it.

The best thing to do in this situation is to be calm, collective, and handle the situation as an adult. You need to be decent about the way you handle the situation before, during, and after because you never know what might end up happening.

You may need to use this person as a reference or you may need help from them. That is something you won’t get if you end the relationship or friendship on a bad note.

It doesn’t matter how good or bad the situation was when it ended, you need to have control. When you have control, whatever happens will happen, but you’ll be on the good end of the situation and that will be to your advantage every time.

Scheduling “Me Time” into your Day

Posted by admin  Published in Motivation, Other, Tips

I’m so busy with my business, my boy’s athletic schedules, and family time that I forget to do “Me Time”. It’s not something I plan to forget, but sometimes it happens.

If I schedule things, I won’t forget them. I use a Google calendar and a day time to keep track of everything. The daytimer is more for my to-do list then the scheduling part, but I still write the deadlines I have each day.

I have a hair appointment today and that’s my “Me Time” for the week. It will be nice to spend two hours getting pampered and talking to my hair dresser about life in general. She is a wonderful lady and we just recently found out that she owned a hair salon a few years ago. The funny thing about that salon was my grandparents cleaned it for her. What a small world.

But anyway, getting back to the scheduling of “Me Time”, it’s a must. It will relax you and give you added energy to keep your routine going. This time can be anything from a hair appointment to getting your nails done. You could sit down and read a book or do Bible study. Whatever you enjoy doing or you find relaxing is what you should do.

Even busy women business owners need “Me Time”, so find it, schedule it, and enjoy it. Your family, friends, clients, and co-workers will be glad you did when you come out on the winning end with a relaxed mental and physical body.

Now I’m off to get my hair cut and colored. I’ll be back later!

Even Kids can Write Articles

Posted by admin  Published in Article, Motivation, Other

As many of you know, I participated in a writing challenge that Ezine Articles put on. It was called “Hundred Articles in Hundred Days”. This meant I had to write and submit 100 articles in 100 days. It lived up to its name. LOL

On Sunday afternoon I was writing away trying to reach my goal, feeling frustrating because I still had so many to go. I told Kevin I didn’t think I was going to make it and Chris said, Mom you can do it. Have faith in yourself.

After a little bit of time Chris said that he’d help me write an article. I said ok go for it. So then of course, his next question was, what do I write about? So I looked at my list and told him he could write an article about how a mom can work her home business and keep her teens busy.

So he thought about it for a minute and then said I don’t understand. So I told him to write down things that he enjoys doing that would keep him busy so I could work my business. So he sat down and started to write. After a few minutes he said he couldn’t do it, that it was too hard. Kevin and I said you can do it buddy, have faith in yourself. So he started again.

He decided the TV was a distraction and he needed to work, so he went upstairs to his room. About an hour later he comes down and says he’s done. He emails it to me and says it’s not very good, but here it is.

I’ll tell you I was so proud of him that he attempted to do this even though he didn’t think it was going to be very good. Some kids would just give up or not even bother to ask.

I took what he wrote and revised it a bit, but used every single one of his suggestions and wrote the article. I read it to him and Kevin when it was done and they both liked it so I submitted it to Ezine Articles. That article was approved today. So I want to share the link with you so you can see what thoughts a 14 year old boy came up with.

Chris, your dad and I are so proud of you. You can do anything if you set your mind to it. Faith is a wonderful thing and I know it’s something you can achieve when you believe in yourself and in God.

Love you buddy!

Happy Birthday America

Posted by admin  Published in Other

The 4th of July is a special day for American citizens. It’s the day we celebrate our independence. It’s the day we thank the soldiers for our freedom. We give thanks for the fighting they do in other countries so we’ll have the freedom we’ve come to enjoy as American citizens.

Celebrations come in many forms. Some people attend celebrations in their communities while others may celebrate with family and friends. The smell of BBQ’s fill the air and when the sun goes down a lot of fireworks will go off.

Whatever way you celebrate this wonderful holiday, stay safe and enjoy the time. And make sure you thank a soldier when you see one in your community. They’ll be grateful and they’ll know you care about them and the hard work they do each day.

Happy Birthday America!!!!
